It is what it is, and maybe if my head stopped throbbing or I stopped coughing for 2 seconds I would run it off a bit more. What I can control is what I'm eating.

Week 2 Day 1
I woke up this morning and did my challenges, yay! I started in the same columns that I previously was in, since at the end of week 2, there's a progress test.
I barely woke up this morning, I'm sure J loved all my alarm clock snoozing. I'm not sure how to get back in the early morning habit, I just have not been able to drag myself out of bed! But I am happy to have done something. I haven't decided if Monday or Tuesday will be my run day, but hopefully I'll wake up early enough to do yoga tomorrow morning.

Next week is a brand new week
I've been doing really well on my steps now that I have my pedometer again :) I really missed it! Next week, I'm starting back up on all my challenges, push-ups, sit-ups and squats. I will be starting back on week 2 because
- After two weeks off, I don't think I'll be where I was (yes, I have a lack of confidence, why do you ask?).
- My bestie will be starting week 2 for her challenges as well, and we can do this together, yay!
- I figured I didn't need to start alllll the way back at the beginning!

I really need to kick whatever I have
Seriously. I'll be feeling better one day and the next feel ick again. I haven't been completely sick again, just completely groggy and super tired. I really want to get back to working out, and try to set my alarm to wake up early, but can't even get up to press snooze (thanks, J for helping me get some extra sleep!). Of course, it doesn't help that last night O was not wanting to sleep.
I'm thinking of an 8pm bedtime tonight. I feel super behind on everything. Well, I guess my house is cleaner than usual, added benefit to company this past weekend.
I'm so behind on my March goals, it's not funny. I haven't even managed the "before" picture! I'll try to get that one done this week, but otherwise, goals are for April. March is just getting a big ugh from me :(
I also just realized that my running ticker is updated about once a month. HAHA, I'm awesome at training.

I found my pedometer!
I'm very excited about this. Apparently I left it on a pair of jeans that is now too big. Since they don't fit, they've been sitting in the bottom of my laundry pile. And now it's found, yay!
I haven't been eating well this past week, and have still been so tired and not exercising. I need to get back into the habit of waking up early to get stuff done. I also need to remember that after I give in to a McDonalds (or fill in any other fast food) temptation, I never feel happy or satisfied. Fast food isn't something I'll ever cut out of my life completely, but it also doesn't need to be a frequent habit.
I still just want to sleep though :(

Officially 5lbs down!
Sure it took since January 1 and a brief illness to get this done, but I am excited to post my ticker today :) I really need to get back on track with my exercising. Being sick last week really took a lot out of me, and no matter how much sleep I got last weekend, I feel like I need about a hundred hours more. J is taking O out in the jogging stroller this afternoon and I know I should go with them. Maybe I will (probably I won't). I still need to finish Week 3/4 Day 3 of all my challenges too. Sigh, I'm tired thinking of it all.
What I am excited about is the homemade bread I'm making this evening. Its soft crust sandwich bread. I really hope it comes out well, it was pretty easy. Making bread is something I've wanted to do for a while, even though I have a perfectly good bread maker sitting on my refrigerator I never use. For some reason the recipe I used seemed easier, which I will post if it turns out well.

New look!
I felt inspired to spruce things up :) Still a work in progress, but I think I like the new look better.
Obviously, I'm a little behind this week. Every time I had a post written in my head, I had no time, and when I had no time, I forgot all my ideas. I missed posting my tickers, but weight is the same and running is up 3 miles (8 total I believe).
There's a new rock and roll half marathon in Savannah this year, which is a city I've wanted to visit for a while. It's over J's birthday weekend, so I don't know if he'll want to get away and run for his bday, but I'm going to ask anyway.
I feel myself getting stronger but I know that just doing push-ups, sit-ups and squats 3x a week, plus my weekly run, isn't helping my weight loss. I am doing better with eating, which I'm proud of. But I need to do more. And more consistently. I'm coming up with ideas. I was going to look and see if the 30 day shred was still on demand, but that's not working today. I have noticed it getting lighter earlier, which is very exciting. I hope not to rely on the treadmill soon!

Well, I'm not making that goal!
I may have snuck in a few sodas over the past week. Last Sunday I was "off" and had a few beers. And needed a soda or two to recover. Yes, that was the day I was sitting on the couch drinking "water" all day. Then yesterday I was home sick from work. My throat was killing me and really when that happens, all I want is carbonation and tea. Which I had both of yesterday. Today, my throat still hurt, but everything has moved into my sinuses and head :( I have no more soda, but have been drinking plenty of hot tea. Luckily, water has been more palatable today as well. And dayquil. Thank goodness for dayquil. I can't be mad at myself for breaking this goal, and I still have the rest of the month to quit soda.
I was able to get in week 3 day 2 of push-ups and week 4 day 2 of sit-ups and squats on Wednesday morning. Obviously, I didn't finish up the week this morning, but hopefully I'll feel better this weekend to get the rest of the challenges and a run in. I am excited that my best friend is starting the sit-ups and squats challenges too!

Sore slacker
I've slacked on posting this week, just as I've slacked on a lot of things! A lot of this week wasn't the best on eating, though I've held onto my no soda goal. I didn't think that one would be so hard, but yesterday I wanted a soda sooooo bad. I started week 4 of all my challenges on Thursday. I wasn't able to get through my push-ups as I would have liked, so I'm going to redo week 3 before retrying week 4. I meant to do that, and continue week 4 for the sit-ups and squats, yesterday, but didn't... I'm going to start fresh on all three tomorrow.
I ran about 3 miles yesterday! There was minimal walking (a minute in the middle and two minutes or so at the end), and I was out for 40 minutes. Yesterday was the first time since Thanksgiving that I ran outside. Yesterday's plan was jog 4 minutes/run 2 x6 from my Fitness training guide. I realized I'm not very good at pacing myself when I'm running on my own. I definitely rely on the treadmill to pace myself. I have 3 speeds on my own, walk, slow shuffle jog, and sprint when I can see the finish line, if I can. I know I used to have a better pace, so I suppose I'll need to keep trying.
I'm doing nothing today, except drinking water and sitting on the couch.

Weekly check-in and checking out March
I can't believe it's March 1st already. I know I'm not going to make my "lose 10lbs by spring" challenge. I'm still excited about the start of spring, however, and hope that I can fit into more of my spring clothes in a few weeks - or whenever the weather decides to stay nice instead of these 70 degree day teasers. One more size down and I have a ton of clothes to wear!
March Goals
-Take a before picture (this should be easy, right? It also should have been done 1/1, but it's not like I've lost too much weight. Though some days, I think I can see my ab muscles trying to show off)
-Complete my push-up, sit-up and squat challenges. Starting week 4 tomorrow!
-Start a new strength routine
-Run at least once a week! (*cough* original purpose of the blog and half marathon sept 4 to think about *cough*)
-Lose 3-4lbs
-Clock 10,000 steps on my pedometer at least three times a week (once said pedometer is found)
-Water water water water
-Have a soda free month
This week, everything is pretty much looking the same. I'm much better at waking up early to work out, which is a huge achievement for me. This morning wasn't a workout morning for me, but I still got up. And ended up feeling more relaxed than I have an quite a long time. And then ate leftover pizza and chocolate for breakfast, oops! But hey, at least it's out of the house now, right?

Weekend workout
A picture from the playground. If he weren't sleepy it would have been a much better workout, but he did keep us moving!
